The DNA of a Strawberry
Students in Carmen Bates' 5th grade class performed a sweet experiment in science class! Instructors from the Westchester Children's Museum Museum Without Walls Educational Outreach program gave a hands on lesson about DNA. Students donned lab coats and goggles and were taught how to extract the DNA out of a strawberry. It was a gooey mess, but lots of fun...and educational too! Thanks to WCM employee, and CES mom, Nicole Lotto for bringing the program to the school.
