5th Grade Science Fair
On Thursday, January 16th, Columbus Fifth Grade students hosted the Seventh Annual Science Fair. The science fair is an exciting event that encourages students to think like young scientists. Students across the grade demonstrated their understanding of the scientific method and showcased their problem-solving and writing skills through varied experiments. In addition, the Fifth Graders practiced their speaking skills as they presented their hypotheses, their data, their results and their conclusions for visitors. Each and every student worked so hard to become an expert on their topic and they presented their information with poise and creativity. Friends and family got involved by voting for their favorite experiments at computerized voting stations. Here are the winners:
- Most Surprising Results: Maddie S. and Lauren V. with their project titled: Spotless Situation
- Most Useful Information Presented: Genevieve L. and Bella P. with their project titled: Roses are Red…Violets are Blue. Which daisy will look like new?
- Best Over-all Experiment: Lizzy M. and Valerie R. with their project titled: Germ Busters.
Winners were announced the following day and the students received medals for their hard work.
Congratulations to all who participated!
